HOPE Center Visit February 27, 2025

Members of the Woman’s Club of Hartland recently visited the Hope Center to learn how this 52-year-old non profit provides a “hand up, not a hand out” to Waukesha County individuals and families in need.

The mission of the Hope Center is to minimize the poverty risk factors that contribute to homelessness in Waukesha County by providing for the basic human needs for food, clothing and simple furniture. All services are free of charge to Waukesha County residents. Club members toured the offices, cafeteria and clothing shop and met volunteers and staff who provide services to thousands of Waukesha County residents, many of whom are single mother heads of households.

With generous support from Tabi’s Wine Bar, the Woman’s Club held An Evening of Love and Hope last November and raised more than $3,600 to support the Hope Center. In December, members donated more than 300 hats, gloves, hand warmers and other items to Hope Center clients. To learn more about the Hope Center, please visit https://hopecenterwi.org/.

Founded in 1938, the Woman’s Club of Hartland is part of the 60,000-member General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services.
